RANCH BOUND!

AND WE ARE OFF...
Officially "ending" the summer out in Boerne this weekend.
Can't wait for some R&R with Celeste and Michael and to have Britney come out there this weekend for the first time! Hoping for some great sunsets like this one :)
Oh and to see this cutie as well--

What are you all doing to celebrate the holiday weekend? xoxo

Specific Inspiration

To my dear friends who need this extra encouragement right now... we all go through this at some point.

“There’s a difference between loving the idea of someone and actually loving who they really are.” ~Elizabeth Burke
“So miss him. Send him some love and light every time you think about him, and then drop it. You’re just afraid to let go of the last bits of him because then you’ll be really alone, and you’re scared to death of what will happen if you’re really alone. But here’s what you gotta understand. If you clear out all that space in your mind that you’re using right now to obsess about this guy, you’ll have a vacuum there, an open spot, a doorway. And guess what the universe will do with that doorway? It will rush in–God will rush in–and fill you with more love than you ever dreamed. So stop using that guy to block that door. Let it go.” ~Eat Pray Love

Jackie O Inspiration

“I have been through a lot and have suffered a great deal. But I have had lots of happy moments, as well. Every moment one lives is different from the other. The good, the bad, hardship, the joy, the tragedy, love, and happiness are all interwoven into one single, indescribable whole that is called life. You cannot separate the good from the bad. And perhaps there is no need to do so, either.”

-Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

Happy Birthday Papa Bear!

Today is my grandfather's birthday and wish I could be with him to celebrate. Here are some photos from last year when I surprised him and took him to lunch at the yacht club back home.

Weekend Inspiration

I should really frame the following for my desk:

A Decalogue of Canons for observation in practical life.
1)  Never put off until to-morrow what you can do to-day.
2)  Never trouble another for what you can do yourself.
3)  Never spend your money before you have it.
4)  Never buy what you don’t want, because it is cheap; it will be dear to you.
5)  Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst and cold.
6)  We never repent of having eaten too little.
7)  Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly.
8)  How much pain have cost us the evils which have never happened.
9)  Take things always by the smooth handle.
10) When angry, count ten before you speak; if very angry, an hundred.

 Thomas Jefferson, 1825

Lately

Lately I have been.... well can you say..... overwhelmed?
Things are starting to slowly settle down again and I will get back to some more creative blogging. Here are some snapshots from last weekend when I was home in New York. Had a great Saturday in the city and then on Long Island visiting my grandparents. Here are some shots of our beautiful afternoon with my wonderful Grandma at our yacht club in Oyster Bay. It was THE BEST relaxing weather I could have ever asked for. Missing the breeze from the sound already.

One of my FAVORITE places on EARTH! Check out the tent over the tennis court they were setting up for a wedding... yes please.

It was SUPER windy but so fun walking down onto the water... in this last picture Mom and I thought we were going to blow away.
Mr. B and Chainsaw were a hoot... they made the treck with us to Long Island... Mr. B is quite the traveler these days.

When it came to heading back to Dallas I was...
1. Sick
2. There was a security breach at Newark Airport so well that just stunk!
3. There was then a ground stop at Newark Airport for a ridiculous storm and crazy lightening.
4. I was excited to have been moved up to first class, watch a movie and sleep most of the way back to Dallas. Definitely enjoyed the United napkins they served with our beverages... GO TEAM USA!
5. Downside of all the travel/being sick... didn't get home until after 1AM and as a result did not get the alloted time I needed to rest before Monday started so sick day it was. Guess it is good I am almost never THAT sick to go to work.

I leave you with a really cool shot from my seat on the plane as we were making our descent into DFW... check out what a great night Sunday was from the sky!
