Birthday Celebration

What a weekend! I got to celebrate my birthday (a week early) with some great friends. Definitely one of the best celebrations I have had and one for the record books- lots of crazy moments and definitely a ton of memories to come from the evening.
We had dinner at Nobu Dallas following the cocktail kick off at my apartment, they seated us in the courtyard under candlelight and I was so happy that the rain held off :)  Dad sent cheese for everyone as little favors and we all had personalized conversation starter chopsticks. Yuka, my favorite person at Nobu, made a special menu for the evening and I am really bummed I do not have a copy or a photo of it. #sadday The group for dinner was great and it was a lot of fun mixing my groups of friends together.

Singing karaoke was the next highlight of the night... if only I could ever decide on a song to sing. I semi sang but I know I am not off the hook with my friends. We all tried out the new Kung Fu Saloon and it was fun to sing in a private karaoke room and then head out to the bar to play arcade games and dance to the great music. 

The party lasted until the wee hours of the next morning... some late night swimming, more champagne, music and good company. It was by far one of the best nights with the best people. Wish I could celebrate like that every weekend! So thankful for each and every one of you.

The 18th: Plates

Plates, we all use them... no matter the size, the shape, the design. I like to have fun with mine, I guess I take after my mother or aunt who have tons and tons of different types, shapes, sizes, patterns- you name it, between the two of them they probably have you covered. One of my favorite places in NYC to find different "fun plates" for your home or apartment would be Fishs Eddy. They have a whole lot of random in that store but you can always find a great new addition for you or the perfect gift for a friend or host! I was browsing the website the other day and found these three cute ones- the Happy Birthday plate/platter, these cute pattern trays, and the "artist" cheese plate.

Fun- July 4th Style

Today's photo of the day is to be about "fun" yet there are so many things that are fun about the Fourth of July... Here is some 4th inspiration that I love from Pinterest recently. I am obsessed with EVERYTHING Red, White and Blue. My family can tell you, there have been years my obsession was WAY OUT OF CONTROL. But hey, we all have some crazy obsession at some point in our lives.

NYE 2013

OKAY EVERYONE! I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING-- WAYYYY TOOO EARLY. 

I don't think so :)

 This year I am resurrecting my family's tradition of the NYE party up in the mountains. My grandparents used to do it, then my parents, and then me (prior to my move to the LONE*STATE). Well, everyone will be happy to know this year is going to be bigger and better than ever and therefore I am starting my planning early.
